Micah & Lynsey
Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We are excited to expand our family and to provide a loving home for them. As parents, we will provide unconditional love, a passion for learning whatever excites them, and fun. Our family and friends are enthusiastic to build a loving community with your child. We understand how difficult this journey is for you and hope to be a part of it with you.
Adoption in Our Lives

We have always wanted children, but we have spent the first few years after marriage enjoying time together and building our foundation. When we decided that we were ready to build our family we decided that adoption was the right fit for us to build our family. This is partially because medicines that Lynsey is on make it complicated to have children on our own, but we also felt that adoption was the best way to move forward for us.
We adopted our son, Gabriel, in September 2020 and we fell in love with him and being parents. When we met Gabriel we knew we made the right choice because he brought so much love and joy into our life. Adoption is a very different journey than we expected, but through it all, our hearts were filled with joy and we look forward to continuing this journey. We are extremely excited about following this path to continue to build our family. We both feel that adoption is the plan that God always had for us. We look forward to bringing another child into our family through adoption.
Our Leisure Time
We love quiet nights in and spending time as a family. With our friends we have a running game night that we have been doing since our time at university. We own many different games, some of our favorites are Rack-o, Sushi Go, Pandemic, Sorry, Clue, Risk, and Settlers of Catan. As our friends become parents too, the children are also included in our game nights.
We spend a lot of time cuddling and playing fetch with our two dogs. Micah loves taking the dogs for walks in different parks around the area.
We also love spending time with our families. We take our nieces and Gabe to the zoo and have them over to make slime and watch Disney movies. With Lynsey's family we spend time at her parent's swimming pool and family trips to the beach and to Disney World.
We also enjoy traveling and have visited Ecuador, Iceland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. We try to make time to see the world, other cultures, and traditions. We hope to take our children on many trips throughout the U.S. and the world so that they can have a better understanding of the world around us.
Since Gabe has joined our family, we have been very busy introducing him to our city by going to the zoo, aquarium, and parks. Over the summer we did weekly swimming classes to get Gabe use to the water and he loved splashing around. Most of all I think we cherish the time with just the three of us at home reading a book or playing with a new toy.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other

Micah About Lynsey: Lynsey has been my best friend and the love of my life since we started dating our freshman year of college. She is a kind, compassionate and intelligent woman. She inspires me to be a better man and father. Lynsey cares so much about the rights and needs of others. When life has taken a bad turn, she has been my rock. She also puts joy in my life. I have a pretty serious nature and she adds the playfulness that I need to my life. All of these traits especially come out with our son, Gabe. She has such a natural maternal instinct; she always knows what is wrong and how to make him feel better and get him to laugh. She is a wonderful mother and aunt to our three nieces.
Lynsey About Micah: Micah is the nicest, most caring, and most intelligent person I have ever met. Micah will drop everything and do anything to help people out when they need him. I learned this shortly after we met and before we started dating. Everyone was going home for the weekend, but I didn't have a ride, so he drove me home even though it added two hours and plenty of traffic to his drive home. Micah's my best friend and the person I can always count on for anything. He is always there for the late nights when Gabe is sick and he is there when Gabe bumps his head and needs a cuddle. He is an amazing father who loves our son so much and will be amazing to the next child we add to our family. I can't wait to see Micah as our family grows and gets older. Gabe and I and any future child are so lucky to have him in our lives.

Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a three-bedroom house near a large Missouri city. Our house is a ranch with a mostly open floorplan, perfect for a growing family. We love to decorate for Christmas with our collection of unique nutcrackers and a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments from our travels.
We live in a large and diverse neighborhood within walking distance of the elementary school. The local school system is one of the best in the state. Our daycare is extremely close by and well-connected with the school district.
The community has many unique parks and recreation activities including a butterfly house, lakes, and playgrounds. The local townships have small main streets that are great for walking around and spending a Saturday window shopping. We are members of a wonderful church in the community.
We are also only 30 minutes from the city center that has professional baseball, hockey, and soccer teams. There are tons of fun museums that we both loved going to as kids and love visiting with our nieces and son. There is also a world-class zoo that we are members of and love visiting all year round.
Our Extended Families
Micah has one brother who is married with two adorable daughters (6 and 7). We are extremely close to their family and see them the most. We love going to the zoo, playing with blocks, or just watching movies together. The girls love Gabriel and always want to take care of him and play with him. Micah is extremely close with his father and loves to go hunting with him. Micah's mother passed away in 2019 after a long battle with MS but is still a part of our lives by leaving us with amazing memories and delicious cookie recipes. Micah's father remarried in 2020 to Denise and she is so excited in her new role as Grandma. Micah's aunt, uncle, and cousins live nearby and celebrate holidays with us.

Lynsey's family is close in the area, we spend a lot of time with them. Lynsey's older sister is recently married and has an 18-month-old (Annie) with another on the way. Lynsey's father is extremely handy and comes over all the time to help with projects. Lynsey and her mother are very close and talk all the time. Her mom works as a preschool teacher nearby. Lynsey's family loves to play games. Clue is a family favorite. Lynsey's grandparents and aunt live nearby and frequently celebrate birthdays and holidays together. Annie and Gabe are very close in age and love to play and have new experiences together.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile. We understand what a difficult decision you are making, and we want you to know we support you no matter what decision to you make. We promise to love your child unconditionally and to raise them in a loving, nurturing, and compassionate home. We promise to give your child a great education and help them develop their own passions and the ability to follow their dreams.
We met in 2010 while we were both studying engineering. While in school, Micah served as a member of the Missouri National Guard. In 2014, Micah volunteered to be deployed to Afghanistan during his final year. When he came home, he finished his last semester and graduated in 2015. We both truly enjoyed the ups and downs that we experienced during our years in university. We became best friends and developed a deep love and commitment to each other. A year after graduation we got married and started on the journey of married life.
We both found careers as consultant engineers in fields we became passionate about. Micah consults on fire and natural disaster protection for a property insurance company. Lynsey consults on building code requirements for persons with disabilities. Through her work, Lynsey has gotten involved with the disabled community. From this, we became involved with an organization that trains service dogs that are provided for free. The program has been an amazing experience. We have loved the joys and challenges of having numerous puppies by our side all day.
We both have a passion for learning and education. While school is extremely important to us, we both see a lot of value in learning outside of the classroom and using that to pursue a lifetime of learning. We love doing activities that follow this principle including taking advantage of local museums and the zoo. We also enjoy traveling around the country and across the world learning about different cultures, nature, and history.
In 2020 we adopted our fist son Gabe. Gabe is Native American and Hispanic. While he is still too young to understand his cultural background we have started introducing it through books and we are planning to try out some recipes. As he grows up we look forward to learning and experiencing this adventure with him. When we made the decision to adopt, we knew that our future child could have a different background and we are excited to learn about possible new traditions and different experiences and incorporate them into our family. We embrace the differences that make us who we are, including but not limited to cultural diversity. Our friends and our community are diverse and supportive of inclusion. Our family and friends are extremely supportive of our decision to adopt and will help make our children feel at home. We plan to research and seek out opportunities that will connect our child to their heritage and provide a community with similar backgrounds.
We are excited for the role you could play in our lives and the life of your child. No matter what role you choose to play you will always be significant to us. We are happy to send updates and photos so that you can follow the milestones in your child's life. We are eager to work with you to provide openness that will build a supportive environment for you and your child. We are committed to teaching our child about you and the brave choices you made. We are so thankful and supportive of you and that will always be a part of this journey.
With love and respect,
Micah & Lynsey
