Brian & Alicia
We are Alicia and Brian, and after 14 wonderful years of marriage, we are so excited to grow our family. Last summer we spent most Saturdays either at Tiger mountain or the Snoqualmie area like Rattlesnake Ledge trail, rewarding ourselves with Snoqualmie ice cream afterwards! As a couple, we navigate life as a team and are ready to bring that same steady foundation, open communication, and love to a child.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Fourteen years of marriage has given us a deep appreciation for the strengths we each bring to our relationship. Brian deeply admires Alicia for her incredible warmth, her creativity, and her ability to make our home feel like a peaceful sanctuary for everyone who enters it. She has a natural gift for noticing the little details that make people feel special and cared for, and she faces life's big projects with a quiet, steady determination.
Alicia highly respects Brian for his calm presence, his sharp wit, and his absolute reliability. He is the person who keeps us grounded when life gets busy, meeting every challenge with clear thinking and a patient, reassuring perspective. He is incredibly supportive and always knows how to bring a sense of humor and lightheartedness to our daily routine.
Together, we function as a true partnership built on mutual respect and open communication. We balance each other out perfectly, with Alicia bringing vibrant creativity and Brian providing a steady anchor. We know these qualities will allow us to offer a child a balanced, loving environment where they always feel secure.
Our Hopes for an Open Adoption
From the very beginning, your child will know their adoption story as a beautiful, natural part of who they are. We want them to grow up knowing that adoption is a journey rooted in a deep abundance of love from two different families. It will never be a secret or a single, formal conversation; instead, it will be an ongoing, open narrative woven into our everyday lives with complete honesty, warmth, and pride.
We plan to be entirely open and supportive of the process and the incredible mother who placed them in our arms. We will always speak of her with the utmost respect, warmth, and deep gratitude. It is vital to us that your child knows their birth mother’s decision was an act of pure, selfless love and immense courage. We want them to understand that she wanted the absolute best for them, and that her choice required a strength that we will honor for the rest of our lives.
As our child grows, we will completely support their curiosity, their questions, and their feelings about their background. We are committed to preserving their heritage and ensuring they know just how much they are cherished by everyone who played a part in bringing them into our lives. They will always know they have a safe place to explore who they are, surrounded by a family that completely honors their whole story.
Lifestyle

We live a balanced lifestyle centered around health, continuous learning, and close relationships. Our days typically start early and quietly, enjoying a hot cup of coffee/tea together before the routine of the day begins. We value a structured yet flexible rhythm that allows us to focus on our careers while protecting our time together as a couple and a family.

Physical activity is a cornerstone of our routine. Running, hiking, and exploring the outdoors keep us energized and grounded. We place a high priority on health and wellness, which carries over into our love for home cooking, using fresh ingredients, and sharing wholesome meals around the dinner table. Brian has loved running since childhood, and that passion has never faded. He recently finished the Houston Marathon in 2:36, with Alicia cheering from the sidelines. Running taught him discipline, resilience, and the joy of chasing a goal, lessons we can't wait to pass along. Whether it's family fun runs, hiking new trails, or cheering from the sideline of whatever activity captures our child's heart, we want them to always have outlets to build confidence and experience the pride of crossing their own finish lines. At the same time, we love the comfort of a peaceful home. We make a conscious effort to keep our schedule open enough for spontaneous park trips, lazy weekend mornings, and quality time spent with our extended family and close friends. It is a stable, active, and nurturing environment that is fully ready to adapt to the needs and joys of raising a child.

Our Extended Families

We are incredibly fortunate to have families who have been our rock throughout our 14 years of marriage. Both of our families are absolutely thrilled about our adoption plan and cannot wait to welcome a new little one into the fold. They have been our biggest cheerleaders from day one.

When we all get together, it’s usually centered around great food and the outdoors. Brian loves firing up the backyard grill, and Alicia enjoys baking fresh treats from scratch to share. Our gatherings are loud, casual, and always full of laughter. We love introducing everyone to our favorite hiking spots, or simply getting a big group together in the living room for a classic board game or a deck of cards.
What makes our extended family unique is how naturally we show up for one another. Whether it’s helping out with an unexpected home project or stepping in at a moment’s notice to watch our sweet dog, we never have to handle life's big moments alone. A child entering our family will be surrounded by aunts, uncles, and grandparents who are already deeply invested, ready to offer a massive, lifelong support system of love.
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a wonderful, family friendly neighborhood in Washington state. Our home is an attached townhome filled with bright, natural light, open spaces, and plenty of room to grow. One of our favorite spaces is our kitchen and living area, which always seems to be the heart of our home. It is where we bake fresh sourdough bread together, host friends for casual dinners, or simply unwind by the windows after a long day. Our community is incredibly supportive of growing families, with top tier schools, quiet sidewalks, and neighbors who take the time to wave and say hello. The neighborhood is packed with young families and children of all ages, offering a perfect, built in network of future playmates. We love that our area emphasizes community events, outdoor life, and safe spaces for kids to just be kids.
Right outside our door, we are surrounded by beautiful local parks, expansive green spaces, and pristine walking trails where we regularly take our dog for strolls. It is incredibly easy to envision a child growing up here, riding bikes along the safe neighborhood paths, playing at the local parks, and exploring the beautiful nature right in our backyard. Our home is a peaceful, secure haven ready to welcome a little one into a vibrant and active community.
A typical Sunday starts before the neighborhood stirs, just the three of us on a quiet walk through the park, Sammy trotting ahead while we sip coffee and map out the day. Back home, Brian takes over the kitchen for his sourdough pancakes while Sammy parks himself under the table with hopeful eyes, waiting for a stray blueberry to hit the floor. There's no rush, no agenda, just the smell of fresh coffee, warm pancakes, and a slow morning together.
Sammy, our Weimaraner, is the sweetest member of our household. He's entirely motivated by treats, has never met a stranger, and bounces between people and dogs at the park like a furry social butterfly.
From Us to You

We want to start by thanking you for taking the time to read our letter and learn a little bit about who we are. We cannot fully understand the weight of the choices you are facing right now, but please know that we hold immense respect for your strength, your courage, and the deep love that guides you. We are grateful for the opportunity to introduce ourselves, and we hope this gives you a window into the life, warmth, and security we want to provide for your child.
Our story began quite a while ago, and we have now been happily married for fourteen wonderful years. Over our time together, we have built a relationship that serves as our absolute anchor. We are true partners in every sense of the word, facing life's chapters with open communication, a lot of laughter, and a steady commitment to one another. Our home is a peaceful, stable place filled with bright energy, fresh-baked sourdough bread, and a sweet, gentle Weimaraner dog named Sammy who is always ready for an outdoor adventure. We live a very balanced and active lifestyle. On weekends, you can usually find us out exploring local nature trails, running, or hosting casual dinners for our close friends and family. Family means everything to us. We are fortunate to have an incredible extended family of grandparents, aunts, and uncles who are already deeply invested in our adoption journey. They are our biggest cheerleaders, and they simply cannot wait to surround a little one with an endless support system of unconditional love. Raising a child in our family means providing them with a secure foundation where they are free to discover exactly who they are. We want to nurture their curiosity, teach them to appreciate the world around them, and guide them with patience and steady boundaries. Most importantly, your child will grow up knowing every single day just how profoundly they are cherished.
There wasn't one single moment we knew adoption was our path, it was more like a quiet knowing that grew louder over time. After years of hoping, praying, and navigating the heartbreak of infertility together, we reached a point where we stopped asking "why us" and started asking "what now." And when we finally said the word "adoption" out loud to each other, something shifted. It felt like the answer that had been waiting for us all along. We know in our bones that our child is out there, and that this is exactly how our family was always meant to come together.
We want you to know that we view adoption not as a single event, but as a beautiful, lifelong story that connects our families forever. We are completely committed to keeping your child’s story transparent, honest, and filled with pride from the very beginning. They will always know how much you love them, and we will always speak of you with the highest respect, warmth, and gratitude. We want to assure you that we will absolutely send regular letters and pictures to you so that you can watch your child grow, thrive, and achieve their milestones. Beyond that, we want you to know that our hearts and our door are truly open. We welcome a deeper, ongoing relationship and are completely open to exchanging emails, sharing phone calls, and planning future face-to-face visits. We want to build an open adoption that feels comfortable, supportive, and natural for you, ensuring that you always have a meaningful place in your child's life.
We close our eyes sometimes and picture the life waiting just ahead of us. Brian imagines Sunday morning pancake batter on tiny fingers and a little voice asking "can Sammy have one too?" Alicia and Brian picture holiday mornings that are louder than they used to be, a backyard full of bubbles and bare feet, and bedtime stories that always need "just one more chapter." We don't just want to give a child a home. We want to give them a childhood they'll carry with them forever, one so full of love and laughter. That is our promise.
Thank you again for looking at our profile and considering us as parents. Whatever you decide, we are sending you our deepest warmth and wishing you complete peace, strength, and clarity as you make the best choice for you and your child.
With love and respect,
Brian & Alicia
